About Us

From the Founder's Desk

I've always believed a saree is more than an outfit—it's confidence, heritage, and timeless craftsmanship woven together.

My love for handloom weaving and hand block printing inspired me long before Viraya began. After spending eight years working across the private and government sectors, with a background in Information Technology and a Master's in Policy and Governance from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, I experienced firsthand how clothing influences confidence, presence and authority.

I also realised why many women had stopped wearing sarees to work—they were often seen as impractical, difficult to drape or reserved only for special occasions.

Viraya was born to change that.

We curate lightweight, breathable, handcrafted sarees that make everyday workwear effortless while supporting the artisans who keep India's textile heritage alive.

Because I believe a saree belongs not just at celebrations, but in boardrooms, classrooms and every workplace where a woman wants to lead with confidence.
